Did you know that keyboard shortcuts can add years to your life, make you thinner and more attractive? Ok, maybe not, but they sure can save you some time. CNet has a great short video about these, and I offer a few more tricks I have up my sleeve below.
Home, End, Page Up & Page Down. They are just sitting there on your keyboard. Try using them. Want to go to the top of a page quickly? Hit “Home”. Want to go to the end? Hit “End”. Easy, simple, fast.

Very nifty. I thought I knew all the shortcuts, Brandie, but F11 (on Mac) to make all the open windows disappear to the top right and show the desktop? Brand new to me. Thanks for sharing this video.
FYI, ones that I like, not mentioned in the video, are Command-[ to go back a page on your browser, and Command-] to go forward a page…very helpful when you’re trying to find a referenced Tweet by following a conversation, or going back and forth between nested blog pages or web sites. (I assume it would work the same on PCs using Control instead of Command, but you’ll have to verify that.]
This is eye opening information here that will save us precious time. I want to add a shortcut this isn’t a keyboard shortcut but it is a shortcut. It’s the auto fill option on the Google toolbar. This lets you type in your main information like your name, address, phone number etc.. one time on Google’s form. Whenever you need to fill out a form online, Google will ask you do you want to autofill the form. First you download the Google toolbar, select the auto fill option, fill in the form. Whenever you go to a page to fill out a form Google will ask you do you want to auto fill the form, click yes and they will autofill the form for you. This will save you a couple of minutes on filling out those long forms.
Great tip! I hadn’t heard of this one. Thanks!
Thanks! We all know that a lot of these shortcuts exist, but it is hard to remember all of them or get the tips from other savvy minded office users. I think it is easiest to make a list, print it out and paste it by your computer, then you never forget!
